
Shrines are often located near to important or useful locations such as settlements, stables, caves and more, so you should always interact with one when you find it. These are important upgrades, so you’ll want to try and take on any shrines you see to try and get as many Light of Blessings as you can.Įven if you don’t want to complete a shrine you pass, make sure to open it anyway, as this will let you fast travel back to it in future, similarly to Skyview Towers. After acquiring four of them, you can talk to Goddess Statues in certain areas and trade four Light of Blessings for extra health or stamina. Completing a shrine rewards you with one Light of Blessing. The main reward from shrines are Light of Blessings. Whenever you’re in a shrine, make sure to keep an eye out for any chests, because opening them will certainly be worth your time. Shrines often have chests located in hard to reach or secret areas for players to find, which typically contain rupees or relatively high quality weapons. These shrines also offer plenty of rewards to players who venture in.

Some shrines even require you to complete a quest to access or open, with the puzzle being the opening of the shrine itself. Shrines provide a variety of challenges, including puzzles, combat encounters, and more. This is an increase on just the 120 shrines that were in Breath of the Wild, thanks to the addition of the Sky Islands. There are 152 shrines in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, 120 in Hyrule and 32 in the sky. Shrines cannot be found in the Depths, as fast travel locations are replaced by Lightroots.
